Justice

A man’s life at stake

angry crowds gathered outside

a noose in their hands

Safety

Her body is my field

where I can land my heart

snug into the hanger

where I am kept warm

safe from the storms

that thrash upon us

seeking to break our will

Lesson learned writing Poetry

The febrile writer

stands within walls

struggles with words

lobbed like boulders

his attempts futile

trying to look the part

without living the part

writing the words

not reading those words

lost in his own fear

of being cast out

exposing hypocrisy
