Dancing Bear

A dancing bear,

is pulled by a chain,

to perform before,

awestruck crowds.

They gawk,

as he dances,

chained to the post.

The people leave,

the chain remains,

some feel cheated,

others feel nothing.

The bear is taken,

back to his cage,

there to be locked in,

until his chain,

is once again pulled,

and he’s taken to the post,

dancing for the crowds,

of the indifferent,

who only consume,

what little is left,

of what nature was,

before the chains.
